Promoting good health for all

Promoting good health for all

We live in a fast-paced world where people hardly have time to eat right, sleep well or even exercise. This is the reason why we are faced with many lifestyle diseases where most people only visit health facilities when get sick.

Preventive healthcare and why it matters

The burden of healthcare is increasingly becoming dire for many households yet some, push it on the back burner. A lot of people are financially strained because of the high costs of curative healthcare. But there is a better way to manage healthcare, by prioritizing preventive healthcare.
Preventive healthcare is simply the steps that one takes to stay healthy before they get sick. So, even if you are healthy, you can still see a doctor to keep your health in check. Preventive healthcare not only keeps you healthier but also saves you medical costs. For instance, regular checkups and immunizations are examples of preventive care.
In efforts to bring healthcare services closer to the community we serve in, and further raise awareness on why regular health checkup is important, City Health Hospital conducted a five-day free medical camp.

Presently, 36 per cent of Kenyans are at risk of being impoverished by the financial burden of chronic diseases thus the need to raise more awareness on the importance of investing in preventive care.

An all-inclusive medical camp

Preventive care helps identify different health problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes in their early stages before they become chronic. Thus, the importance of regular checkups needs to amplified.
At the medical camp, we provided different checkup services such as; dental, optical, vitals and blood sugar.

Caring for our environment

As we endevour to offer quality healthcare services in conducive environment both inwardly and outwardly, we are cognizant to the importance of taking care of our environment. To this end, we concluded the medical camp with a street cleanup of Tom Mboya Street (where the Nairobi branch is located)- from the Odeon building to Kenneth Matiba Road.
